Peninsula
Woman's Club is a non-profit organization, dedicated to advancing the
civic, cultural and educational levels of its members and to encourage
humanitarian efforts within the community.
During the year, the GFWC Peninsula Woman’s Club holds their annual
Holiday Party Fundraiser in November or December to raise money to SUPPORT
SENIORS in the Peninsula area through the Peninsula Shepherd Center.
Members and guests enjoy our summer garden party which supports Heifer
International. Needy families within the United States have received
bees, goats, ducks, chickens and geese from our club. Partnering with
Pernicano’s Restaurant and another Federated club, the Hugh O’Brien
Youth Foundation Leadership Seminars are supported and the members enjoy
a delicious spaghetti dinner.
GFWC Peninsula Woman’s Club also strongly advocates that the Post
Office Complex on Midway Drive be used for multi-family and senior housing
and a Senior Activity Center/Community Center as opposed to a “big
box retail outlet.”
When visiting Spanish Landing, look for the El Camino Real Bell Historical
marker located on Harbor Drive across from Terminal Two of the Airport.
This was a project of GFWC Peninsula Woman’s Club. The club also
supports: Breast Cancer Comfort Pillow Project…Ocean Beach Elementary
School…Penny Pines Reforestation Project…Union Shoe Fund…Station
22 of the San Diego Fire Department and so many more wonderful causes.
We are a diverse club of women of all backgrounds. We are “Mini
But Mighty!” For more information about our meetings, please call
